The Gong Meditation is all about sound and its influence on the human
body & energy systems. The Gong’s vibrations can help balance, cleanse and unblock energy in your body and Chakras. Working at a cellular level, they help to relieve stress, fatigue, depression, anger, and blocked energy. People are encouraged to bring a Yoga mat and/or blanket on which they can sit or lie, while allowing the healing vibrations to wash over them.
Session participants have reported experiencing deep relaxation, fantastic journeys, and even spontaneous healing of illness & injuries. Gongs have the power to transcend time, space, and other realms. There are many times in playing a session where an hour feels like ten minutes—where did the time go?
Some responses from participants are:

I don't believe in this kind of stuff, but I came with a friend

the big Gong, I just opened up!

Michael Bettine has been a professional percussionist for over 40 years. In the 1970s, he discovered Gongs and became fascinated with them. Over the years, he has worked extensively with metal percussion of all types, amassing a collection of hundreds of Gongs, bells, cymbals, etc. In 2005 and 2012, he presented clinics on the use of Gongs in contemporary music, and in sound therapy, at the prestigious Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC). In January 2016 he was the Artist in Residence at the MONA FOMA festival in Hobart, Australia, presenting 8 concerts over 3 days. Ever curious, Michael continues to explore the boundaries of sound and its influence on the human body and energy system.
