Are you looking to develop a home yoga practice?
If you answer YES to either of these questions then join us at this Vinyasa Flow Workshop where you will learn about the history and practice of Vinyasa Krama. You will be introduced to Sun Salutations which are the foundation and spirit of Vinyasa Flow Hatha Yoga practice. In Flow yoga, for each movement there is one breath. For example, in the traditional Vinyasa based Surya Namaskar there is inhaling while raising one's arms overhead, then exhaling while bending forward, placing the hands next to the feet, etc.

FRIDAY FEBRUARY 6TH, 2009: Are You Livin' The Moment: 7pm-8pm (FREE) This is a 1 hour inspirational talk featuring chocolate, movie clips, sports highlights all of which set the tone for the weekend. The speech teaches the tools necessary to hold the moment amidst the chaos of everyday living. And once you are more "in the moment," David will explain how that enhances your life as a professional, spouse, and parent. By placing a greater emphasis on high quality moments everyday, we lead richer, more meaningful lives filled with vibrant memories.
FRIDAY FEBRUARY 6TH, 2009: Finding Youth in The Present Moment Flow Yoga 8pm-9:30pm, $45
This 2 hour presentation will pair a flowing 90 minute flowing vinyasa yoga class with featured wines of Sicily from the Feudo Arancio winery. The history of wine cultivation in Sicily goes back at least 6,000 years. In fact, during the time of the Greeks, Sicily (known at that time as Magna Grecia or 'Greater Greece') was truly the heart of wine cultivation in the Mediterranean. Historic texts from this time often refer to Sicily as Oenotria or 'The Land of the Staked Vines'. For Sicilians wine has always been more than just a beverage.in the Mediterranean world, wine has always carried a spiritual significance. From the cults of Dionysus and Bacchus in Greece and Rome to the sacred significance of wine in religious context, wine has always symbolized life, fertility, pleasure and the blessings of 'mother earth'. David will explore how a glass of wine is the gateway to a deeper sense of life and a deeper look at youthfulness not as wrinkled skin but as a vibrant spirit. David will explore how some people that are old seem really young; while some people that are young seem really old. At the end of class, you will be in a deeply relaxed, totally present state of mind as you are guided through a tasting of Sicilian varietals such as Grillo and Nero d'Avola. You'll finish realizing that like a great wine, a human can age with boldness, character and grace.
SATURDAY FEBRUARY 7TH, 2009: Finding Perspective in The Present Moment: 10:45am-12:45pm, $40
In this 2 hour flowing vinyasa yoga class, David will lead you on a tour thru the different places every human discovers on the Inner Journey. From the luxurious tropical views of your greatest dreams (Inner Kauai) to ever-present spot in our loins for life's ego-driven driven luxuries (Inner Las Vegas) to the wide open desert terrain in the depths of to soul (Inner Arizona) to that all-common stop in the slums of the mind (Inner City). This workshop will remind you that you always have the freedom to travel on the inner journey. Lillian Smith said, "I soon realized that no journey carries one far unless, as it extends into the world around us, it goes an equal distance into the world within."
SATURDAY FEBRUARY 7TH, 2009: Healing in The Present Moment: 4pm - 6pm, $45
In the ancient Eastern cultures, healing is an art as much as a science. David will explain this art thru the chakra system which teaches how to inspire the soul in order to heal the body. It's very valuable information that sometimes is a bit hard to swallow; but not if it's covered in chocolate.
The Chocolate Chakra Tour is a journey thru the 7 chakras. For each chakra, you will experience a deep stretch yoga pose, a specially selected song from just the right genre of music, a carefuly chosen exotic Vosges Chocolate truffle, and a fun story to drive the points home. A sneak preview: You will learn how the sparkling guitar of the late Jerry Garcia is the ultimate sound to soothe the heart chakra while the spicy Red Fire Vosges chocolate truffle offers a powerful connection to the root chakra. This workshop is based on The Yoga + Chocolate Chakra Box which David co-created with Katrina Markoff, founder of Vosges Haut-Chocolat.
SUNDAY FEBRUARY 8TH, 2009: Finding Your Purpose in The Present Moment 1:30pm-4pm, $45
Every human struggles with what the Bhagavad Gita calls the 3 human weaknesses: lust, anger, and greed. In order to stay true to self and purpose, one must build immunity to the seductions of life (emotional outbursts that endanger others, lust-driven affairs that hurt loved ones, and making poor decisions for money rather than for love). We are most vulnerable to those weaknesses when mind, body and spirit are out of sync. There's no better way to re-synchronize then thru peak sensory experiences like delicious chocolate, rockin' music, and soothing yoga. At the end of David's flowing vinyasa yoga class, you will be in a deeply relaxed, totally present state of mind as you are guided through a tasting of the Vosges Haut-Chocolat Funk n Disco truffle made with buttermilk banana pudding and milk chocolate. You'll finish realizing that "nothing can cure the soul but the senses just as nothing can cure the senses but the soul." (Oscar Wilde)
