CARPE DIEM - PLAY YOGA TO DREAM OUT LOUD

JULY 29TH, 2008:  I love Dr Seuss.  Loved him when I was little and love him now as an adult.  Countless times I have gained inspiration from this beloved author.  One of my morning meditation favorites is "Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So... get on your way."  Really this is a call for CARPE DIEM.  Too many times while we're getting ready to live, to really enjoy life then it runs out.  Take to heart as Dr Wayne Dyer says, "Go for it now. The future is promised to no one."

As you know I've been planning a vacation.  That got me thinking about Dorothy Danfield Fishers words, "If we would only give, just once, the same amount of reflection to what we want to get out of life that we give to the question of what to do with a vacation, we would be startled at our false standards and the aimless procession of our busy days."  So if what we want out of vacation is to enjoy life, to relax and be happy then each day is our time to PLAY!

Make this mental shift:  try to see everyday as a play date because each day has qualities of vacation just like every pose is SAVASANA.  In every pose, and in every way we have an opportunity to write a happily ever after.  So what are you waiting for, take to heart final encouragement from Dr Seuss:  "If you never did, you should. These things are fun, and fun is good."
